Deeply fluted with scrolling handles, ornate feet and a beautifully worked lid, it has the generous proportions and presence of a small piece of sculpture.
Once made for the ritual of the table, it returns there now filled with candlelight. Lifting the lid to light it—and replacing it when the evening is done—becomes a ritual of its own.
