The marks beneath its little feet include NORWAY and EPNS—electroplated nickel silver—along with a 50 GR plating mark. With its scalloped rim, delicate feet and diminutive scale, it was most likely made to hold cream alongside coffee or tea.
Tiny, beautifully made, and somehow precious without being precious, it has been filled with wax and a single wick—a little pool of candlelight for the table.
